What is Caring Forever?

Gifts to the Caring Forever Fund in honor or memory of those special to you, creates income through investment of the gift which helps support and strengthen the ministries, programs and facilities of Sugar Land Methodist while the principle investment grows... forever!

How Does the Fund Work?

Gifts are given to the Caring Forever Fund in variety of ways (listed below) where the principle amount of all the gifts are taken and invested in secure investments through the United Methodist Foundation in Houston or the Texas Methodist Foundation in Austin. These are both safe and conservative investments that help benefit the greater United Methodist Church.

After the initial investment, 90 percent of the earnings from the investment can be used for non-budgeted items around the church. The Caring Forever Fund reviews and approves all acceptance for investments and expenditures. Recent works through the Caring Forever Fund include helping fund the Society of St. Stephen to finish out the fiscal year and the purchase and installation of tables and booths in the Student Life Center.

The remaining 10 percent of the earnings are taken and combined with the original gift to be reinvested. Only 90 percent of the earnings are spent and the fund keeps growing the longer it is invested, so a gift to the Caring Forever Fund is a gift that lasts forever!
