Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14
At Sugar Land Methodist, we are dedicated to leading every child to become a fully devoted Disciple of Christ. We strive to provide a safe and loving environment for them to grow in faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Sunday School Curriculum
2 Year Olds Children learn through the Group's "Hands On Bible" Curriculum
Sunday school fun your kids can touch... see... hear... taste... and smell! Hands-On Bible Sunday school curriculum is just that: hands-on! Kids dive in and get involved, learning as they explore and engage. The children engage through their senses... and then closer to Jesus through children's Bible lessons that draw kids into God's Word and closer to Jesus.
3 Year Olds through 1st Grade learn through the Cokesbury's "Grow, Proclaim, Serve" Curriculum
Grow, Proclaim, and Serve! is a Bible-based Sunday school program that provides churches the necessary resources to nourish and enrich a child’s faith from birth through tweens. In doing so, your child will learn to proclaim the good news of God’s love and serve God and neighbor.
Grow, Proclaim, and Serve! provides for both you and your child:
- Age-appropriate learning materials
- Activities that engage children and reinforce Bible stories
- Self-directed activities designed to develop independent learning skills
- Take-home activities that bring the Bible story to your child’s daily life
- Parenting community to better connect with other parents
Cokesbury offers a website of information specific for children and parents. Click the link to access the information.
2nd thru 5th Grade students learn from the Rethink Group's Orange Curriculum
Red (family) + Yellow (church) = Orange
Elementary-age kids are in a constant state of discovery. Think about all the different things they are trying for the first time and what they’re learning every day, even how to make (and keep) friends.
How can we tap into the way kids are naturally wired to discover‚ so they can begin to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them?
How can we show them God’s big story and help them discover the active part they can play in this life-long adventure, to be more like Him?
252 BASICS curriculum and resources PROVOKE DISCOVERY, inviting kids to live out their new understanding of how to grow in relationship with God and with others.
Has your child checked out Studio252.TV? If not, click this link! This is a creative space where your child can come to discover more about what God wants to do in your child to change the world around us. We hope you have fun while you are here! Faith at Home
Children’s Ministry has a program called Faith at Home in which we equip parents with the ability to lead the spiritual growth of their family and allow the church to reinforce what is occurring at home. We invite the parents once a year (per child) to join their children during a 10:10 Sunday School time to learn a topic and how to apply it at home. Find out more...
KidServe
Kids benefit from serving others. When we teach a child to serve, we are also teaching that child to become a servant for life. With the KidServe Program: Each age/grade will have an annual service project that they do together as a class. Find out more...
