Connections 101

Our desire is that each person find a meaningful community of Christ where they can connect with others, grow in faith, and reach out in love. Connections101 classes are designed specifically for visitors. They offer a ‘crash course’ of our church, providing answers to the most common questions people ask.

1st Sunday: Who is Sugar Land Methodist? What is our vision?

Get a bird’s eye view of our church’s compelling vision and working values. God has put us here to make a difference in the world, beginning with Sugar Land and reaching globally. How do our vision and values move us forward? And what is expected of those who have committed to membership?

2nd Sunday: What do we believe?

The foundations of our faith are the basic building blocks upon which our lives are built. Find out what the classic confession of Christianity is and its impact upon our ministry and life of faith.

3rd Sunday: What is this Methodism thing?

We are part of a larger movement of Christianity called Methodism. Learn what unique contribution Methodism is making in our world and how our church moves within it.

4th Sunday: How do I fit in?

“Where do I start?” is one of the most common questions we hear. Bridging this gap, we offer an overview of the many ministries at Sugar Land Methodist and a personalized consultaion with a Ministry Placement Representative.

These four Sundays are designed to give you an overview of our ministry, so each visitor can make an informed decision about committing to membership. They are required for membership.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you become familiar with the activities and groups at Sugar Land Methodist. When you're ready, we're ready to help you connect with others and God through worship, fellowship, groups and serving.
